Are field trips offered for the children?
Yes, our buses are available for area field trips. We transport children who meet the State's height and age requirements. We start field trips with bus rides at 2 years old and they get out of the bus to see places at 3 years old. They ride in their own car seats until they are 4 years old and weigh 40 pounds; after both conditions are met, they can ride the bus without a car seat, just with the seat belt. Children are given opportunities to see their community and other places of interest year-round. Whether it is the local grocery store, the petting zoo, the library, and entertainment places such as roller skating or bowling, we provide fun and learning for the children and guarantee the maximum protection plan for parent's peace of mind.
Is playtime/outdoor time available?
Yes, our school is equipped with four areas of outside play with covered, age appropriate play structures. The children have scheduled times in the morning and the afternoon to explore their outside world. As an added safety feature, our schools have six foot fencing around the outside perimeter of the play areas. The play equipment is state-of-the-art and Kids 'R' Kids abides by the Federal regulations on safety equipment and their surrounding fall zones. Our largest playground is also equipped with a splash pad for fun in the sun.
Are meals and snacks provided?
Yes, we serve hot meals and nutritional snacks. Our location is equipped with a full-service kitchen and staff trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our menu also includes vegetarian and chicken alternatives while being a peanut free environment. Family style dining is incorporated in Suite 250 and above for children to learn the process of serving themselves while practicing social skills and table manners.
Is your staff trained?
Yes, the Kids 'R' Kids faculty are required to follow their state regulations that apply to training. All staff are trained in First Aid/CPR, Infectious Disease Control, Injury Prevention, and Child Abuse Awareness. Additional training in curriculum, child development, classroom arrangement, classroom management, age appropriate activities, nutrition, field trip planning and OSHA regulations provide the skills needed to create a quality learning environment. New staff members get a minimum of 8 hours of orientation before they are placed in the classroom. The staff is encouraged to further their education through CDA and CCP programs and are given opportunities to attend professional training conferences. The staff at Kids 'R' Kids Eagle Springs / Kings River also receive monetary assistance in order to further their education in the child care field. Training is offered for all staff members through CCEI which enables our staff members to acquire additional training hours needed any time of day. Kids 'R' Kids of Eagle Springs / Kings River requires each staff member to have 30 hours of annual training each year which is 6 more hours than the state of Texas requires for Preschool teachers. Additional in house and corporate trainings also help our high quality staff achieve the instruction needed to be professional teachers and caregivers.
